Trial of a Grand Bay man adjourned to June 03rd
The trial of a Grand Bay man for murder has been adjourned to June 03rd, 2019.
Chester Bedminister is on trial for the murder of Priscus Presley Fontaine in Grand Bay on October 24, 2015.
The accused is alleged to have struck the deceased with a piece of block to the head in Grand Bay.
He was found dead at his home the following day.
The trial resumed for a brief moment today, but conditions around the jury room forced the adjournment.
The prosecution is expected to call one of its key witnesses Sergeant Jeffrey James to the witness stand when the matter resumes in June.
The state’s case is led by State Attorney Sherma Dalrymple, with assistance from Ann Riviere and Diana Matthew.
Peter Alleyne represents the accused with assistance from Tiyani Behanzin.
A six woman three man jury is hearing the case presided over by High Court judge Victoria Charles Clarke.
