Small Business Development to get Substantial Slice in Upcoming National Budget
The 2017-2018 National Budget will make provision for an additional $10,000,000 for small business support.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says his Government has been on a drive to develop small businesses and that initiative will continue.
In the 2015-2016 National Budget, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit told the House of Assembly that Small and medium-sized enterprises form the core of the private sector in Dominica.
He said these businesses contribute to overall economic development by providing goods and services as well as employment opportunities and Government would continue to pay close attention to the needs of this segment of the private sector.
$3.4 million was allocated in the last fiscal year, to provide for small business enterprise development and the development of rural business enterprise centres.
