Police Conduct 2 Successful Anti-Drug Operations
Police Public Relations Officer, Pelham Jno Baptiste reported on Monday 14 December 2015 that one individual, Davin Madir, 26, of Campbell is in police custody following a successful anti-drug operation at Macoucherie over the weekend while no arrests have been made in the cocaine find.
The Police PRO added that ammunition and a Toyota corolla were also seized in the operation.
“The Police carried out an operation which resulted in the arrest of 26 year old Davin Madir of Campbell. Madir was found in possession of 3,143 grams of alleged cannabis weed with an estimated street value of EC $3,143.
“He was also found in possession of one a 16 gauge shot gun and 2 rounds of 16 gauge ammunition and a blue Toyota Corolla car, registration number: PN444 was also seized by the police.”
The incident occurred about 12:15 am on Saturday 12th December, 2015 at Macoucherie.
Meantime, Jno. Baptiste reported the discovery of almost $500.000.00 worth of cocaine in the Layou area.
“The other anti-drug operation carried out about 8PM on Saturday 12 December 2015 at Layou. The Drug Squad section of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force seized one bag containing 18, 600 grams or 18.6 kilograms of alleged cocaine with an approximate street value of EC $502, 200.00. No arrests were made in that operation. The police department will continue in its efforts to protect citizens from the harmful effects of illegal drugs and will remain relentless in the fight against the illegal drug trade.”
