Opposition, United Workers Party Reiterates Call for Electoral Reform
The Opposition- United Workers Party (UWP) is pushing for online voting and voter identification cards for Dominicans abroad who are qualified to vote.
The UWP began a series of meetings in Fond Cole on Thursday to garner support for electoral reform ahead of the next general elections.
Lennox Linton is Leader of the UWP.
He says media access for the Opposition and Campaign Finance Reform which includes declarations of campaign contributions and election campaign spending need to be implemented.
Meantime, Opposition Senator Issac Baptiste told the meeting, elections should be held without electoral reform.
On another note, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) has shown commitment to making changes to Dominica’s election laws by submitting recommendations to the electoral Commission.
