Murder charges reinstated on Trevor Abraham of Savanne Pie
Defence Attorney Wayne Norde has described as unfortunate and frustrating a decision by the state to reinstate murder charges on his client Trevor Abraham.
Trevor Abraham who is from the village of Savanne Pie was released just two months ago in connection with the 2016 death of Hubert Wright of Grandbay.
The prosecution had asked for numerous adjournments on the grounds that they were waiting for forensic evidence from Jamaica.
In February a final adjournment date was given for March 1 but the prosecution was unable to provide the evidence from Jamaica.
The matter was then dismissed for want of prosecution.
Abraham was rearrested on Thursday and appeared before a magistrate on the same charge in relation to the same case.
Norde says that while the prosecution is within its rights to reinstate the charges nothing seems to have changed in the merits of the case.
Following his rearrest, Abraham is now on remand at the Stock Farm Prison.
The matter has been adjourned to July 12, 2018.
