Most vulnerable to benefit from emergency cash transfer program
Government in collaboration with the World Food Program and UNICEF have implemented a new joint emergency cash transfer program which will target the most vulnerable households post Hurricane Maria.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Social Services, Family and Gender Affairs, Helen Royer says that over 25,000 people will benefit from the new program.

Social Protection Specialist at UNICEF, Aleks Lazovski says a criteria has been established to ensure that the most vulnerable homes are targeted.
Households headed by elderly persons, single parent headed households, women and girls at risk of exploitation or abuse, large households with a high dependency ratio and people who live in shelters were also some of the criteria used.
