Lennox Linton remains leader of the opposition United Workers Party
The opposition United Workers Party has kept faith with its leader Lennox Linton.
Linton was elected unopposed at the Party’s delegates conference in Grandfond on Sunday.
Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau South Constituency Joshua Francis, who was removed as Deputy leader in 2016 over a court matter, was elected for another stint as Deputy Leader.
Francis who was nominated from the floor beat Danny Lugay 83 votes to 48.
Isaac Baptiste was elected new President. He replaced Ronald Charles who did not seek re election.
Hector John is the Vice President.
Nicholas George is General Secretary, while Debbie Shillingford is his assistant.
Treasurer is Alex Birmingham and his assistant is Nichole Thomas.
Public Relations Officer is Steve Benjamin, and International Secretary is Dr Thompson Fontaine.
Trustees are former Prime Minister Edison James, Ron Green and Norris Prevost.
The UWP announced that Glenroy Soso Cuffy will be its candidate for Roseau Central at the next general elections constitutionally due in 2020.
