Government Reports Over $5M Expenditure for Petite Savanne Relief Efforts
The Roosevelt Skerrit-led Administration is reporting that over $5M has been spent in bringing relied to displaced residents of Petite Savanne following Tropical Storm Erika last year.
Chairperson of the Social Services and Welfare Sub- Committee, Justina Charles told a meeting of Cabinet and residents of Petit Savanne last night that 191 families were evacuated after the storm and Government has intervened in one way or the other to assist the displaced residents.
Meantime, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says his Government will find the resources to ensure that the resettlement of residents of Petite Savanne in Bellevue Chopin is successful.
Meantime, Housing Minister Reginald Austrie says the first phase of the resettlement for Petite Savanne is underway.
