Dominica’s Education System receives a significant boost to improve literacy among students
Dominica’s Education System has received a significant boost with its efforts to improve literacy among students.
Close to three thousand students from 24 primary and secondary schools across Dominica will benefit from books and other reading materials.
The donation of books were made by Hands Across the Sea and includes over 12 thousand brand new reading books; four Remedial Reading Toolkits; and one reading corner floor mat.
The handing over of the books took place today at the Newtown Primary School.
The Pierre Charles Secondary School was also announced as the Literacy Winner for 2018.
They received books and literacy resources valued at one thousand US dollars.
Dominica’s Literary Link for Hands Across the Sea Giselle Laurent made the presentation of books to the Schools, which include the Pioneer Prep, Soufriere Primary, Newtown Primary, Wesley Primary School, and the Pierre Charles Secondary School, among others.
