Director of Primary Health Care services concerned with results of recent medical study carried out on a number of public servants
Director of Primary Health Care Service Dr Laura Esprit says there is a concern with the elevated blood sugar and blood pressure, which were the results coming from a recent study carried out on a number of public servants.
The results are coming from a health awareness campaign for public servants, utilizing the recently donated Sagicor Mobile Medical Unit.
Dr Esprit revealed that in terms of random blood sugar they noticed that 36% of the persons who participated had elevated blood sugars and that is significant.
She stated that the results reflect a need for change if dents are to be made in the battle against chronic non communicable diseases.
Dr Esprit also mentioned that a number of observations were also made regarding people suffering from chronic diseases.
