16 receive Cuban Government scholarships
Sixteen more Dominicans will leave Dominica soon to pursue studies in Cuba.
The future students received their scholarships this morning at the Cuban Embassy in Morne Daniel.
Cuban Ambassador to Dominica His Excellency Ulises Ignacio Arranaz Fernandez congratulated the scholarship recipients telling them to take advantage of this opportunity.
Pursuing Medical studies will be Chilasa Dyer, Bopsie Francis, Kaimi Guiste, Isaiah Lawrence, Chelcia Lewis, Donna Liverpool, Tiffani Mason, Solana Tuitt, Kimmel Wayland and Kyannah Jeffery.
Post-graduate studies in Medicine will be pursued by Allison Abel-Seaman and Dwayne Laville while Sarah Prentice will study Nursing.
Other fields of study will be undertaken by Annisha Burton, Francine Julius and Krishen Alexander.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, Chandler Hyacinth said the government and people of Cuba continue to assist Dominica in the development of its human resource.
